Autism, ADHD & Neurodivergent Counselling
When You’ve Spent Your Life Feeling Different
Have you ever felt like everyone else was given a handbook for life that you somehow missed? Do you find everyday tasks overwhelming, feel mentally exhausted from trying to keep up with other people, or constantly question why things that seem easy for others feel so difficult for you?
Perhaps you’ve always felt different but never understood why. Maybe you’ve recently been diagnosed with autism or ADHD, you’re waiting for an assessment, or you’re beginning to recognise those traits in yourself or your child.
Whatever has brought you here, you are welcome. At KM Counselling, I offer neurodivergent-affirming counselling for children, teenagers and adults. My aim is to provide a space where you feel understood, accepted and supported to explore your experiences without judgement. Together, we’ll work to understand what matters to you, build on your strengths and find practical ways to manage the challenges you’re facing.

Whatever you’re experiencing, therapy offers an opportunity to understand yourself with greater compassion and develop strategies that work for your life.
My Approach
Every person is unique, so therapy should be too.
I work from a person-centred, neurodivergent-affirming approach, adapting each session to your individual needs, communication style and goals. Some people prefer to talk things through, while others find mindfulness, creative approaches or practical strategies more helpful. Rather than focusing on changing who you are, we’ll work together to understand how you experience the world and identify ways to support your wellbeing while building on your strengths.
Children and Young People
Children don’t always have the words to explain how they’re feeling. As a qualified Child and Young Person Counsellor and Play Therapist, I adapt therapy to suit each child’s age, personality and preferred way of communicating. Sessions may include talking, play or creative activities, helping children develop emotional awareness, confidence and healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Adults
Many adults tell me they’ve spent years wondering why they never quite seemed to fit in. Whether you’re navigating a recent diagnosis, considering an assessment or simply trying to make sense of your experiences, counselling can help you understand yourself more fully, reduce self-criticism and move forward with greater confidence.
Support for Parents and Carers
Supporting a neurodivergent child can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to navigate school, assessments or family life. Counselling offers a space to explore these challenges, strengthen your confidence and ensure you’re supported too.
